Do not indulge in useless, unproductive and frivolous matters

- Always keep in mind that your time and energy is not to be wasted in useless, unproductive and frivolous matters. So do not indulge in laghw of any sort, that is to say, do not speak, listen or do anything that is naught, of no account, unprofitable, nonsense, foolish, ineffectual, vain, futile, frivolous, unhealthy, unpleasant, abominable, offensive to the mind, detestable, repugnant, hideous, unwholesome, impairing, hurtful, harmful, or injurious, or anything that could bar you from being and remaining mindful of the Quranic teachings [23:3, 41:26]

 - If per chance you pass by a place where such a thing is going on,  just turn away quietly and gracefully (25:72), telling those people, "Unto us shall be accounted our deeds and unto you your deeds.  We cannot take part in what you are doing.  However our hope is that you should remain in peace and well being; but after seeing and knowing what you all are doing, we cannot join a group of ignorant people" [28:55]

And do not follow (blindly) any information of which you have no (direct) knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception, you must verify it for yourself. (In the Court of your Lord,) you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning."[17:36]
