Thinking and Pondering over the Quran

TADABBUR has the following meanings:

-Pondering over something while giving careful consideration to its consequences.

-Pondering over (a plan) considering the state of affairs that it would achieve.

Allah has emphasized a lot in the Quran to exercise TADABBUR regarding the Quran i.e to ponder over it while giving careful consideration to the consequences and results that ensue following its principles, precepts and commandments.

In 38:29, Allah says, that the very purpose of the Book is TADABBUR and TAZAKKAUR, i.e. to ponder upon it and stay mindful of it.

(This is) a Book that We have revealed unto you (O Prophet), full of lasting Bliss that they may ponder upon its Messages and that those who have understood may (take them to heart and  [always] be mindful.[38:29]

Will they not then ponder over the Qur’an, or is it that they have their locks on (their) hearts (which bar them from reason) [47:24]

Will they not then, ponder over the Quran? If it were from other than Allah they would surely have found in it much discrepancies. [4:82]

Have they not pondered the Word [of Allah, i.e. Quran]? or is it that there has come to them that which did not come to their fathers of old? [23:68]

And do not follow (blindly) any information of which you have no (direct) knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception, you must verify it for yourself. (In the Court of your Lord,) you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning."[17:36]
