Manners of Walking

  • Walk at an equable or a moderate pace (neither too slowly, nor too quickly) [31:19]

  • Do not walk exultingly, with a proud or self-conceited gait [17:37, 31:18]

  • Walk with humility, repose and gentleness [25:63]

  • Women, in particular, should walk in a modest, decent and decorous manner [28:25]

  • Both men and women must abridge their look and restrain their gaze (from what is prohibited) [24:30-31].

  • Both men and women should not look treacherously or clandestinely on anything that is prohibited [40:19]
